Kei Izawa

With a long professional career background in Japanese government and multinational corporations based in Europe, North America and Japan, Kei immigrated to Boulder in 1997. Having published three books in Japan (the last an English translation of "A Life in Aikido" -the biography of Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba), and contributing monthly to Sotokoto magazine, a high end lifestyle and LOHAS magazine in Japan Kei has been writing about Boulder people and firms since 2006. Kei is a consultant for firms interested in export or direct investment to Japan or to the US and is currently brokering exports of organic foodstuff to Japan. Kei is an avid practitioner of Aikido and teaches the art with his wife Mariquita. In their free time, they enjoy hiking with their dogs Chibi and Sumi.
Masashi Tsuchiya

Masashi Tsuchiya, CEO, Co-founder of Boulder Trading Co and Japanese native, has 15 years of import/export business experience working at a large trading house. He was based in Tokyo and Seattle. Upon arriving in Boulder, Colorado, Masashi was drawn to the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) community. Masashi enjoys mountain biking in Boulder, and taking long hikes in the foothills with his wife and their loving dog, Tango.
Sam Goodman

A Colorado native and an avid outdoorsman, Sam graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder before undertaking a 5 year journey teaching English throughout Asia. Some of his stops include teaching TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) in Singapore, Singapore and TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) in Tokyo, Japan. Sam worked three years in Kyoto, Japan teaching in rural elementary and junior high schools under the Japanese government organization, Japan Exchange and Teaching program (JET). Sam also taught business English for various corporate and government agencies including Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC), Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) and Shin-Nihon Sekiyu (Eneos). Now living back in Colorado, Sam has combined his international experience, teaching background and Colorado roots to form Colorado House International, an adventure tour company focused on eco-educational tours for the Japanese clientele in the Denver/Boulder area. Recent tours include a green building tour for Japanese architects and interior designers and a LOHAS tour for Japanese visitors interested in learning about eco-conscious companies and local governmental green policies. In his free time, Sam enjoys reading, rock climbing and snowboarding as well as spending lazy Sunday afternoons with his wife, Tomoko.
